Jane Wood
Jane Wood is a nationally recognized Trainer/Consultant with Berea Children’s Home and Family Services – The Family Nurturing Center of Ohio. Jane has been a clinician in the field working with youth and families since 1985. She received her Graduate Degree in Counseling and Personnel Services from the State University of Albany in New York where she began her counseling career at a child caring agency in Schenectady, New York. Jane, her husband and their two young daughters moved to Berea, Ohio in the fall of 1991. In April 1992, Jane began as a volunteer facilitator teaching the Nurturing Parenting Program for Berea Children’s Home and Family Services, a non-profit child caring agency in Northeast Ohio. Jane joined the Family Treatment Department where she has served as a clinician, supervisor and assistant director for 19 years and is a licensed Social Worker and a Professional Clinical Counselor with the State of Ohio.
Since 2007, Jane has been one of the agency’s trainers teaching the philosophy and constructs of Nurturing Parenting to all new employees. Berea Children’s Home and Family Services formally adopted and embraced Nurturing Parenting as it complements the agency’s mission “to equip and empower children and families to reach their potential and become contributing members of a strong community.”
Jane’s passion and focus has been helping to strengthen family relationships as she believes every individual has the potential to succeed in a nurturing environment.
