I'm a Case Manager at Pine Street Inn. Pine Street Inn is one of the largest shelters in New England, which has grown to include education, various programs, permanent housing and health unit. I deal with people who have Substance Abuse problem and/or Mental Health Illness.

I have a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from University of Massachusetts. I have worked with families and children including women in a domestic violence. I have facilitated numerous Nurturing Parenting classes and have also facilitated school age children 9 to 12 years old. I also created weekly workshops on communication skills, positive discipline, self esteem and self concept.

I believe everyone is equal but different in lot of ways. Everyone has the right to live happy and the right to make their own choices whenever possible. Children should be respected by adults and allowed to use their personal power whenever appropriate. If you want your children to do the right things, be a good role model. Children learn from watching. Spanking doesn't work - positive discipline does. I believe in using punishment such as taking away privileges, time out and restitution, etc. I listen without judging, forgive without a problem and I use empathy instead of sympathy.
