Primary Prevention (Education)

Primary Prevention (Education) Programs are designed to empower individuals and families with new knowledge, beliefs, strategies and skills to make good and healthy lifestyle choices. Programs at this level are generally short-term approximately 5 to 18 sessions (dosage) in length.

Prenatal Families

The Prenatal program addresses the current issues faced by couples expecting a child including the use of prescription drugs, alcohol and tobacco during pregnancy; the relationship between healthy pregnancies and proper nutrition; the effects of stress on the baby; ways to keep a healthy sexual relationship; and issues of body image, weight gain, dieting and brain development during pregnancy.





ABC's for Parents & Their Children 5 to 8 Years

ABC's for Parents and Their Children 5 to 8 Years attend separate sessions that meet concurrently. Parents learn about Nurturing Parenting skills and ways to promote their children's success in schools. Discipline, communication, helping children express their feelings, strategies for building self-worth and personal power are included in the program.





Parents & Children with Special Needs & Health Challenges

Parents and Their Children with Special Needs and Health Challenges is designed to help parents and their children with chronic or life threatening medical conditions, developmental delays, life-altering disorders and disabilities.





Community Based Education in Nurturing Parenting

The Community Based Education in Nurturing Parenting is a series of ten independent 60 to 90 minute lessons on CD. The lessons are a versatile means of educating families in the community on the philosophy and skills of Nurturing Parenting, a proven evidenced based parenting program.





Community Based Education for Military Families

The Community Based Education for Military Families is seven independent 60 to 90 minute lessons offered on CD addressing the uniqueness military parents face in raising their children. Lessons include deployment, reuniting, staying connected, keeping the relationship together and PTSD.

Community Based Education - Teen Pregnancy Prevention

The Community Based Education Teen Pregnancy Prevention is eight independent 60 to 90 minute lessons offered on CD. This is not a fear based program. Isn't reality bad enough? The goal of this program is to educate teens about the consequences of high risk behavior and give them the tools necessary to make better choices.
